Story pointing is less for predicting the time to outcome and more for getting everyone on the same page.

To that effect, think of story point estimates as a way for your team to iron out creases in the understanding of the solution. If they all align to the same number, you have consensus. Else, there is a discord on the solution complexity (and therefore the solution).
