Using analogies to explain concepts is fine. Using relatable analogies is much better.

Thoughts on the PTOTD

I’ve seen people get entangled in analogies to drive home a point. The problem is that their analogies are incoherent and often relate to their experiences (uncommon).

The better way to frame your analogies is through questions – where you’re verify the initial premise of the analogous concept and then drawing parallels. It may sound trivial, but you can only get good after multiple attempts.
